face to face

Pioneer
of the deep.

When he was drawn under the spell of the sea as a child, Kurt Amsler probably didn’t know that his career would take him where it did. Today he is a true legend: He made films and produced TV programs with his great idol Hans Hass, became a bestselling author of non-fiction, travel guides and illustrated books and won countless photo competitions. There is hardly a publication that hasn’t shown Kurt’s work or a dive site he doesn’t know.

Mentor and adventurer

A life
for the sea.

He has been passing on his tips and experiences to other photographers for 30 years and teaches all levels of underwater photography, from beginner to professional level, in his photo school in the South of France. In addition to his work as a photographer and mentor, Kurt has been committed to animal rights for years and is very engaged in the protection of endangered sea turtles with his non-profit SOS Seaturtles.

Modern photo technology gives us endless opportunites! For me, SEACAM equipment has been and always will be the most professional.

More about

Kurt
Amsler.

Kurt Amsler was born in Switzerland and now lives on the Côte d’Azur in France. He has dedicated himself to the underwater world for almost 60 years now – as a diver and diving instructor as well as one of the most successful underwater photographers and journalists in the world. He regularly holds photo workshops and has been involved with SOS Seaturtles for the protection of sea turtles for years. When Kurt is not diving, he can usually be found on his sailboat in the Mediterranean in good company of his dogs.
