SEACAM
Professionals

For years, we’ve relied on the feedback and collaboration of photographers and creative professionals around the world. They support SEACAM with their commitment and work under water in a variety of ways – as professional photographers, filmmakers, trip and workshop leaders, environmental activists, and much more. On this page, we’d like to introduce you to our SEACAM Professionals.

Martin Strmiska

Although Martin has worked full-time as an underwater photographer and journalist since 2005, and has completed thousands of dives in a wide variety of environments, he remains fascinated by the emotions experienced underwater. After some time, his curiosity extended beyond recreational diving, and he began documenting stories from the world of technical diving; eventually getting certified as a cave‑, rebreather‑, and advanced trimix diver. Wide-angle photography is Martin’s preferred discipline – and there he constantly seeks (and finds) new ways to capture unique lighting and spectacular scenes.

In 2025, drawing on decades of experience, he launched the SEACAM Photo School — a compact online library for motivated photographers looking to master new skills and refine their technique.

Heinz-Erich Zappel

Heinz Erich is a passionate fresh water photographer, always ready to capture the fascinating beauty of our home waters – and creative macro photography is his specialty. His statement “Makro geht immer” (EN: Macro always works) became so popular it developed into an international facebook community and a workshop series, where interested photographers can discover the beauty of fresh water and improve their craft.

“I trust in SEACAM because the reliability of my system allows me to freely give myself to the fascinating underwater world and the creative aspects of photography.”
