He regularly travels to the farthest corners of the world, where he goes on new adven­tures, expe­di­ti­ons and research trips with his dedicated Ocean Geo­gra­phic team.

“24 Hours Beneath the Rainbow Sea” was one of his first expe­di­ti­ons to the Maldives and as project leader of the Elysium Epic Expe­di­ti­ons, the world’s most influ­en­ti­al pho­to­graph­ers and sci­en­tists docu­men­ted the bio­di­ver­si­ty and climate change in the Antarctic and Arctic. His Ocean Geo­gra­phic Society recently led him into the heart of the Coral Triangle and his exciting adven­tures can now be followed in 38 books.

Michael Aw lives and works in Sydney as a wildlife pho­to­grapher, author and expe­di­ti­on leader. In addition to the “Wildlife Pho­to­grapher of the Year” and more than 65 inter­na­tio­nal photo awards, he was reco­gni­zed as one of the most influ­en­ti­al nature pho­to­graph­ers in the world. As a member of the Explorer Club NY and Inter­na­tio­nal League of Con­ser­va­ti­on Pho­to­graph­ers, his essays and images have been featured in publi­ca­ti­ons such as BBC Wildlife, GEO, National Geo­gra­phic and The Times. Between work, he enjoys being under­wa­ter, exploring the depths of the Arctic as well as tropical waters.
