Ever since he was in grade school, when a National Geographic article about a reef in Florida sparked his fascination for the underwater world, Mark B. Hatter has been hooked. His photographic roots trace back to the analog era, when divers had to make do with a maximum of 36 frames per dive. This school of thought shapes his philosophy to this day: instead of taking hundreds of digital snapshots, he meticulously plans each image in his mind before even hitting the water.
